Using Code.org as a comprehensive tutorial in basic coding skills.
In this assignment for Robotics class, I used learn.code.org to practice basic coding skills using simple block programming, in order to train critical thinking in the form of developing programs, and problem solving via debugging.
I used the various lessons in the tutorial to learn the basics of the coding system for learn.code.org, and then proceeded to problem solve the various problems, building on a previous knowledge left over from my use of LEGO NXT when I was younger.
The major challenges I encountered in this activity seemed to have more to do with the rather unwieldy nature of the tool than with programming itself, as there were occasions where the clunky nature of the tool made doing what I wanted somewhat difficult.
Below are two screenshots from the website, made using "The Artist" tool for the system, where a program is written controlling the motion of an on-screen sprite, which traces a path behind it whilst following the pre-programmed pattern.
